Acting as the Group Leader, ensured the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of a 5 unit (25 MWe) gas turbine cogeneration facility (Rolls Royce 501-KB7S). In this role I assisted the plant manager with budgeting, financial projections, maintenance forecasting and reporting to customer representatives. The plant experienced a record day reliability run during my tenure by implementing a more focused PM program using Maximo for work management. I implemented cost savings through improvements in operational efficiency, material purchasing and contractor service activities. I was the site owner of LOTO program, confined space entry, contractor management and other required environmental, health and safety (EHS) initiatives, including all sustainability programs at the plant. Ensured all human resource, safety and technical training requirements were met by the Production Team Members under my supervision. Ashtabula earned the 2009 Duke Energy Generation Services President’s Safety Award during my role as the Group Leader at the plant.

Assisted with the design, construction, startup, and operation of the Delta Township Central Utility Complex. Other duties included overseeing the operation and maintenance of an industrial wastewater treatment facility, reverse osmosis units and sludge handling equipment. Assisted the GM Site Utility Manager and Energy Engineer with utility operational and efficiency programs and ensured contractual requirements to our customer and operating partners were met. In a union environment, ensured all human resource, safety and technical training requirements were met by the Production Team Members under my supervision.

Assisted with the startup and operation of the Lansing Grand River Central Utility Complex (CUC). As a Certified Michigan Industrial Waste Water Operator, operated and maintained a 300,000 GPD industrial wastewater plant and 250 gpm reverse osmosis water system. Also operated and maintained centrifugal air compressors, electric and absorption chillers, steam hot water heat exchangers, cooling towers and industrial HVAC equipment. Electrical operations also included transformers, switchgear and a 2.0 MW steam turbine generator. Implemented improvements that increased options for industrial wastewater movement and treatment within the facility. Established process improvements to increase the efficiency of preventative maintenance duties. Helped establish procedures for wastewater treatment during the initial stages of operation. Worked with General Motors personnel to ensure efficient and reliable operation of the CUC for the customer.
