The Gunnery Staff Course trains selected Officers to join the Gunnery Staff. It is focused on training delivery and technical expertise in the field of Joint Fires.

Employed as the head of a team of specialists, responsible for consulting on rules of engagement and risk. Required to bid for assets and coordinate to best support the commander's requirement. The line manager for 30 soldiers, ensuring yearly confidential reports and mid term appraisals were conducted, set personal and operational objectives, and ensured that essential career courses for promotion were completed within timelines.Consulted on operational risk to the Recce Squadron Commander whilst employed in the UK Lead Armoured Task Force. Developed procedures from existing frameworks to mitigate against risk to life andimplement safety procedures.At times acted in higher rank to consult with the formation commander on risk to life and coordination of assets in support of operational planning. During this posting, I ran regimental operations for a period of three months. Advising on operational planning, management, and mitigation for a regiment of 450+ soldiers and officers.I was deployed twice in support of UK Covid Ops. Once to Liverpool on MACA (Military Aid to Civil Authorities). Here I was responsible for the coordination and implementation of training local councils to deliver covid testing and to train the follow-on work force who would take over from the military.
