• Obtain and review historical records of previously executed turnaround jobs using SAP. Use the lessons learned to create new plans that are more cost and time efficient.• Use the clients document management system (UDOCS) to find relevant documents • From work requests and requirements, develop the Turnaround scope of a preliminary step listing• Perform field inspections and determine the appropriate job work scopes• Create complete work packages for the turnaround including equipment data, job step plans, estimates, all required supporting documents, required spare parts, etc.• Monitor and maintain a continual update of the work requirements and requests, paying special attention to Contracts/Projects being run simultaneously or in conjunction with the current Turnaround. Carseland Nitrogen Operation

Ted worked as maintenance planner at Agrium's Carseland Nitrogen Operation (CNO). While working at CNO there was a transition to a formalized planning and scheduling process for routine maintenance work. Ted was the turnaround planner at the time, he was then assigned as a dual role electrical maintenance planner and turnaround planner. Working with the maintenance team the new planning process was implementing. Ted worked closely with corporate asset management coaches in implementing maintenance best practices and monitor key performance indicators.Skills• Daily review of new work orders to ensure accurate description of problem and correct work order information• Identify all work tasks, materials and cross trade support needed to complete jobs in work order backlog• Ensure all job plans are in compliance with the EHS policy• Order material required to complete work orders• Maintain work order status so work orders can be tracked accurately • Work with scheduler in developing the daily and weekly schedule• Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors in the delivery of their services• Create task list and bills of material for repetitive jobs• Setup preventive maintenance program and monitor to ensure effectiveness • Ensure all work orders are closed out properly• Review completed job plans and work orders to keep the process evergreen • Maintain computerized equipment master data and work order records

Carseland Nitrogen Operation

Ted was assigned to the corporate turnaround review committee in 2001 as a representative for the Carseland Nitrogen Operation (CNO). From this committee a Turnaround Management Model was developed, this model is now used by all Agrium Operations in North America. Working with the maintenance and operations superintendents the Turnaround Management model was implemented at CNO. Ted the dedicated turnaround planner at CNO for two turnaround cycles. Ted was also a member of the evaluation team that travelled to other Agrium sites to conduct turnaround readiness assessments.Skills• Work with all stakeholders in identifying turnaround work scope items• Assist in developing the turnaround budget• Order long lead materials• Work with procurement department in selecting turnaround contractors, vendors and service providers• Setup cost structure in CMMS and develop reporting requirements• Work with EHS department to develop turnaround EHS plans • Communicate initial work scope and timing with stakeholders• Develop detailed job plans for all work scope items identifying all material, trades, equipment and job steps• Build work orders (WO) in SAP from detailed job plans.
