Focus is on batteries, both component cells and assembled battery packs for healthcare applications.- Plan and oversee design verification, where testing is done both in-house as well as at suppliers and external test houses.-Co-define the requirements so that they are test-able- Quantify design margin and product reliability-Apply data analysis (DFSS) skills for data driven decisions, examples: process limits based on supplier test data, define stress test and perform (Weibull) failure analysis.-Define and analyze Design-Of-Experiment type test to derive transfer functions of performance versus stress parameters. -Perform change point analysis to define appropriate tests in case of product modifications to launched designs.

Development and production release of high-end, LED based, lighting products for projection purposes. Highlights:- Set up a generic quality test plan for a new platform of products.- Defined and applied accelerated life tests. From the various failure modes, I constructed a model to predict reliability at nominal use.- Quantified several failures modes before they entered the market. Re-designs were made, re-tested, risk profile was updated and applied on time, not delaying market introduction.- Provided Day-to-Day support to factory in Asia.- Ensured open and clear communication with stakeholders on product risks, jointly finding the optimal quality level.- Supported design-in and co-development process with demanding B2B customers, taking cultural differenced into account.

Turnhout Belgium

Location: Turnhout (BE)Led various projects, range ~3-8 FTE, and introduced a range of new products to production and market.Here I applied a combination of project leader and technical architecture skills. Highlights:-Developed and successfully introduced an ignition aid to allow ignition of gas discharge lamps without unwanted substances. This involved design and an extensive testing effort, in parallel it implied modification of 5 high speed lamp assembly lines, > 5Mpcs/year.- Developed and released a range of new lamps with an upgrade in color temperature. Successful introduction of ~20 new products. - Released and successfully introduced a fuse to prevent unsafe end-of-life behavior in a range of gas discharge lamps.- Designed and set up a pilot production for a dedicated lamp and burner for a fashion retail chain.

Location: Eindhoven (NL)Main, ~5 FTE, project was to develop a ceramic Xenon gas discharge lamp for automotive headlighting, leveraging on a new Laser sealing technology. This required both a new lamp design, in parallel also a quite radical mechanization effort. Highlights:-Leveraged and built network between 4 sites (Turnout, Eindhoven, Aachen Research, Aachen Automotive factory).- Realization of mechanization concept and prototype for high xenon pressure (>12 bar) Laser sealing of a ceramic lamp.- Realized a ceramic lamp of rise grain size dimension, 1.2 mm, containing salt, electrodes and 12 bar xenon gas.

Location Aachen (DE)Leveraged and further built on my network working in the triangle of product development-research-production.-Set up a high-tech diagnostic method to study the electrode and electromagnetic interference (EMI) of a xenon gas discharge lamp used for automotive headlighting.-Supported factory development e.g. by setting-up a diagnostic tool.
