I lead libraries on the cutting edge in a digital world. I help organizations that need to build and manage varied collections of both physical and digital items; and design and implement policies needed to ensure these resources are easily discoverable and permanent.At the Library of Congress, I lead the acquisition of books, serials and special collections. I built the collection of digital journals from the ground up and lead on the development of digital acquisition more broadly, as part of the larger envisioning of the library's future.I create policies and systems for library collections, from acquisition and cataloging to management and preservation to outreach and service to users. I present on this to others on this work, sharing our ideas and vision and serving in leadership roles in the scholarly communication community.

I manage the staff handling the single largest serials acquisitions program at the Library of Congress. My job has me working at the forefront of digital collection policy and practice, where I lead three key initiatives: the eDeposit program, the Recommended Formats Statement and the Access Management project. In 2010, I helped launch the LC eDeposit.

NTL reached out to me to serve on a detail as its director to help them with some key digital library projects which they needed to implement. I helped with the rollout and implementation of the new public access repository and initiated the process for moving the preservation repository to more sustainable open source code as the first stage of a redesign.
