Founder & CeoArtaic Jun 2007 - PresentBoston, Massachusetts, Uswww.artaic.comArtaic, LLC is a Boston-based MIT spinout company that produces custom site-specific mosaic art installations. Artaic's patent-pending robotic precision manufacturing and computer aided design systems drive the production of large scale and/or high volume mosaics with revolutionary speed and cost. The creation of mosaic has traditionally been an expensive and time consuming manual process, characterized by long lead times, complicated process, and prohibitive cost. Artaic's technologies enable off-site manufacture of mosaic installations flexibly, efficiently and affordably.Artaic brings the creation of mosaic to a new level, where art meets technology to make the medium more sophisticated and accessible. -

Co-Chair, Access To CapitalAdvanced Manufacturing Collaborative Nov 2011 - Dec 2018BOSTON – Monday, November 28, 2011 – Governor Deval Patrick today launched the Advanced Manufacturing Collaborative and released a new roadmap for manufacturing job growth in Massachusetts during an address to the Advanced Manufacturing Partnership (AMP) regional meeting in Cambridge, hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The manufacturing industry employs 260,000 people in Massachusetts, a 4,400 increase in employees from a year ago."Innovation has long been a signature economic strength for the US and especially for Massachusetts; witness the electrifying creativity of the innovation cluster that surrounds MIT," said Susan Hockfield, President of MIT. "But to create US jobs, we can’t just make ideas here: the products they spawn have to be made in America, too. With the Massachusetts Advanced Manufacturing Collaborative, Governor Patrick is building precisely the kind of state-level alliance – of industry, academia and government -- that can deliver a new generation of advanced manufacturing jobs for Massachusetts."

Co-Chair, Media And Communications SubcommitteeMassachusetts Governor’S Science, Technology, Engineering, And Math (Stem) Advisory Council Jan 2010 - Dec 2018On October 14, 2009 Governor Deval Patrick signed an Executive Order creating the Governor's STEM Advisory Council and appointed Lieutenant Governor Timothy P. Murray the Chairman. This Council will work to move Massachusetts in a positive direction relative to a STEM prepared workforce. Our shared goal is to ensure that all students are educated in STEM fields, which will enable them to pursue post-secondary degrees or careers in these areas, as well as raise awareness of the benefits associated with an increased statewide focus on STEM. Through this collaboration, we can make a difference in supporting the Commonwealth's goal of continued leadership in scientific and technological innovation.

Designed, built, and successfully operated a complex ultraprecision mecho-electro-optical calibration system. Started up a new entrepreneurial R&D program and recruited, trained, and managed 25-person multidisciplinary team. Identified previously undetected major thermomechanical flaw. Flaw was corrected, resulting in successful launch April 2004 -
Project Manager - Artificial Star 3 Of The Gravity Probe-B Program; Ph.D. CandidateStanford University 1994 - 2000Stanford, Ca, UsArtificial Star 3 of the Gravity Probe-B Program. Testing Einstein's Theory of Relativity.https://einstein.stanford.edu/Gravity Probe B (GP-B) is a NASA physics mission to experimentally investigate Albert Einstein's 1916 general theory of relativity—his theory of gravity. GB-B used four spherical gyroscopes and a telescope, housed in a satellite orbiting 642 km (400 mi) above the Earth, to measure in a new way, and with unprecedented accuracy, two extraordinary effects predicted by the general theory of relativity (the second effect having never before been directly measured):The geodetic effect—the amount by which the Earth warps the local spacetime in which it resides. The frame-dragging effect—the amount by which the rotating Earth drags its local spacetime around with it.The GP-B experiment tests these two effects by precisely measuring the displacement angles of the spin axes of the four gyros over the course of a year and comparing these experimental results with predictions from Einstein's theory. -
