Ted Carter is a senior executive, with over 20 years of financial services experience creating value for fortune 500 companies by building and implementing world class enterprise risk management programs. Mr. Carter possesses the strategic vision and discernment to successfully identify, manage and mitigate operational, regulatory and compliance risk associated with day-to-day operations. He also brings deep corporate governance experience through his work with corporate boards, including audit, risk, and finance committees. Currently Ted is the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) reporting to company's Chief Operating Officer and board of directors. Day-to-day risk management duties include determining and evaluating the company’s risk tolerance, embedding risk tools and programs into key business activities to drive risk-based decisions making. Prior to being CRO Ted served as Chief Audit Executive. Reporting to the chair of the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors, he was responsible for developing and implementing the firm’s risk-based audit plans that tests the systems, controls, and processes against best practices across the firm’s global footprint of Americas, EMEA and APAC. Ted held several risk management leadership positions within banking, mortgage finance and asset management. He began his risk management career at PNC Global Fund Services. During his 5 years with PNC, he helped align the firms strategic plan to overall risk appetite. The alignment of risk and strategy positioned firm for future growth. Teds leadership positions have afforded him valuable experience and expertise in dealing with the issues facing many boards today, such as global talent strategy formulation, acquisition integration, growth strategies and risk management. Mr. Carter is a proud advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion. He is currently a member of T. Rowe Price Black Leadership Council; and served as chair of the firms MOSAIC business resource group. In both roles, he supports the firm’s talent acquisition and retention strategy to attract, develop, and retain diverse talent. Ted earned a B.S. in communications from Howard University and an M.S. in information systems and financial management from the Carnegie Mellon School of Public Policy and Management, where he is currently an adjunct faculty member for the Carnegie Mellon Heinz Chief Risk Officer Executive Education program.
