As a Security Officer at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center, I was responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patients, visitors and staff. The role involved patrolling different units and facilities and looking for anything out of order. I would also respond to calls for assistance in a fast fashion and provide support for nursing staff. Part of the job also entailed managing access control, dispatching team members to different locations and monitoring surveillance and updating the security log. I also would maintain stationary details in the Emergency Department Behavior Health Hallway, making sure all of the patients stay where they need to be, have everything they need and assist nursing staff while tending to the patients.
