He worked in the family business as a child growing up and through college. He became a partner in the family garment manufacturing business and operated the factory until 1987. In 1987, Teddy left his family business to become Vice President of Manufacturing at Leslie Fay (Breckenridge). From 1985 until his resignation in 1993, Teddy was Vice President of Manufacturing at Emanuel Ungaro, a division of GFT.In 1993, Teddy rekindled Apparel Production to be an exclusive agent for a start-up company called Garfield and Marks. Apparel Production manufactured all of Garfield and Marks apparel until they were sold in 1998 with sales of over $40,000,000.00 (U.S.). Teddy and his staff handled the entire manufacturing process, including patterns, production, and inventory control.
