In this role, I oversee a team of data scientists and researchers for new analytical and AI product design, technology evaluation, intellectual property development, and prototype creation. I spearhead analytical solutions for risk, identity, and data products on AI/ML platforms, tailoring to various uses and serving as a foundation for future innovation. I am also in charge of evaluating emerging technologies and trends, such as TensorFlow, blockchain, and Spark, consulting with stockholders and assessing use. Being close to the innovation community, I assess start-ups to identify potential areas of collaboration and engaging them through the company’s onboarding process. Key Accomplishments:  Spearheaded new intellectual property to further position Visa as a leader in the field, taking into account recent technology trends, including the submission of more than 40 patent applications in areas such as data security and machine learning.  Initiated new product designs and research work for risk and identity, open banking and marketing, such as contributing to the Visa identity solutions roadmap, and working closely with the sales and development teams for various major requests for proposals.  Led on the creation of proof of concepts of new projects, including graph-based recommendation engine (Uber model), identity corporate strategy, Bank of America request for proposal, Visa authentication hub, blockchain strategy report, deep learning AI platform, as well as open banking POC API layer.

Previously, I was a lead in Visa Labs, managing a cross-functional team of engineers, researchers, and data scientists, for the development of rapid prototypes, the next generation of Visa products, and the co-creation of innovation with partners. This included devising analytical solutions with partners, including WestField and WestPac, addressing clients’ needs. I was responsible for building Visa’s rapid prototype laboratory, serving as part of its leadership team. Key Accomplishments:  Advanced the organization’s intellectual property portfolio, producing more than 80 patent applications and more than 10 trade secrets.  Headed key client projects, such as next-generation retail space, rapid prototype lab, consumer sentiment model, relativistic reputation model, next-generation modeling platform, and Internet of Things risk models.

I first started at Visa as an Analytics Architect whereby I devised and implemented new analytical models, deep learning systems, data products, and new technologies. To this end, I led various projects, including the V.me Targeted Offers for real-time targeted offers based on customers’ preferences, Bayesian-like wallet risk model for Visa Checkout, the advanced authorization ROW models and created a secure data transformation and modeling language. Key Accomplishments:  Invented a software language for AI and machine learning development.  Developed first-hand insights and knowledge on complex problem-solving, systems analysis and evaluation.  Championed the use of Hadoop cluster for data modeling in the organization.

At Quality Planning Corporation, I managed an innovation team, focusing on data acquisition and development of products. Key Accomplishments:  Initiated four key analytical products that are still in production after more than eight years after launch.  Served as a founding member of the ISO Analytical Council which championed modern data mining techniques.  Handled projects, including real-time scoring models on customers’ risk profiles, predictive models on the most effective method of contact, as well as Monte Carlo simulation models for prediction on call center traffic.
