Customer needs and business objectives must always be the starting point. With a clear understanding of customer requirements, product requirements can be defined and specified. Finally, technology will be built or acquired to generate an overwhelming competitive advantage to help the product win in the market. The core attributes of these entrepreneurs - their understanding of the problem, clear articulation of the value proposition, and passion for the technology they are building - make me want to help them. As a technology leader, I’ve learned the importance of empathy in everything I do. I’ve found that servant leadership works the best.
