Lobbied and advised federal government legislators to lift restrictions of the Jackson-Vanik Act, allowing trade with Vietnam. The resulting waiver allowed our company to do business with the CAAV (Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam) and open trade for other companies trying to initiate business with Vietnam. Developed an innovative way for Viet Nam’s military to secure aviation parts from China.On behalf of CAAV while in China, met with the China Aviation Technology Import-Export Corporation, to successfully negotiate this deal trade between Vietnam and China. Direct involvement in this $100MM annual deal was not realized due to prior year amendment in FAR's. Due diligence in reporting the potential sale to DoD prevented a serious infraction from occurring.
