"Don't give up, don't ever give up" -Jim Valvano. I lived my by this motto everyday of my life after being diagnosed with cancer (Osteosarcoma) my senior year of high school.I created my own 501(c)(3) organization which directly supports and helps fundraise for pediatric cancer research. This is a big part of me because when I was a senior in high school I was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer called osteosarcoma. This gave me a new perspective in life and has ever since given me the drive and determination to succeed in everything I do.While caddying I was young but driven. I started caddying in eighth grade. I was one of the youngest workers there but this did not scare me. In my first few months I would wake up at 6:30, bike a four miles to the caddy shack and wait my turn. I would have to sit and wait for hours. There were days when my turn would not come. This did not deter me. I always came early and worked hard. Then after a month or so at the bottom of the caddy ranks, I was promoted to an "A" caddy where I began to get more regular shifts. I was driven and hard working and after a year I was promoted to the highest rank known as "Honor" Caddy.As an intern at ICM Properties, I was able to gain valuable knowledge of the ins and outs of a real estate company operating in the city of Chicago. I worked as a sales and marketing intern and was able to help execute, learn about and maneuver deals pertaining to single unit apartments all the way up to a large building. The experience of communicating with clients face to face truly helped me become a more confident and savvy salesman. I helped market over 2000 apartments units and became familiar with how to create an aesthetically pleasing layout to attract the eye.In my future I want to work in Financial Services but still am very open to many possibilities in the business world.
