    Liazon Dec 2015 - Present
    Buffalo, New York, Us
Liazon was a startup that became the industry-leading private benefits exchange with over 1,000 clients (now owned by WTW). I joined as a report to the Head of Product and member of the core management team that determines product features and functionality, and I was initially tasked with building a project management team in the Product organization and designing a customized SDLC approach. Highlights:• Partnered with leadership to define need for major organizational shifts that included hire of project management and BA/product owner teams, definition of roles, and steps to ensure alignment with stakeholder needs to improve product quality and development efficiency. • Built a four-member team of project managers supporting development initiatives across Liazon’s Bright Choices (US-only) and Benefits Access (international) products. • Led design of processes including standards for feature tickets (writing, prioritization model), defect management (production tickets, SLAs, triage), and feature sizing. Defined program KPIs/metrics and determined sprint goals for features from ideation through production. • Created a feature prioritization method that assigned values to multiple factors (e.g. profitability, size, cost, need), with scores used for roadmapping. • Guide project managers in use of a hybrid Agile/Waterfall methodology with two-week sprints. Established daily stand-ups and standards for project plans and reporting (issue, risk, defect management, feature status health). • Contributed to transition from domain-focused teams to an approach where teams are responsible for features.
