I am experienced in TV and radio presenting, as well as content creation. I presented and had associate producer credits on MTV's black music channel MTV Base, in their first year of broadcasting. 'The Hip Hop Review' was pivotal in showcasing Hip Hop and rap, from a broader cultural perspective. Featured artists that appeared on the show included Yasliin Bey, D'Angelo, Dr Dre, Wu-Tang Clan, Roxanne Shante, and others. The show also gave a vitally important voice to and showcased artists from the UK Hip Hop scene. Something that hadn't been done previously to that point.

Due to the all encompassing nature of the role, I have a wide range of responsibilities as a store CTM. I have sole accountability when the senior manager is not present. This means having a practical working knowledge of safe working practices, the legal requirements needed to run day-to-day store operations, as well as knowing all departmental aspects of the store. (Bakery, store replenishment, deliveries, cash office, payroll, colleague training/ operational implementation, etc.) I am also a personal licence holder, designated premises supervisor and first aider.

In my role as assistant manager, I preside over a four million pound business at HMV's Victoria Station store. My duties included maintaining day-to-day store operations, stock ordering and control, staff delegation, recruitment, training and induction. I monitored customer service targets, took care of cash office tasks, maintaining financial records, and managing office and administrative duties. After leaving to move to Sweden in 2008, I returned to the business in 2011, on the strength a referral from my former manager at the Victoria HMV store. I was asked to return the company’s Fulham Broadway store, as a sales assistant, to provide support and add my previous managerial experience to the sales floor. I was enabled as a key-holder, opened and closed the store, task delegation, training new staff members, as well as running the shop and performing safe checks. Returning provided me with an opportunity to get back onto HMV’s management program, however the program was suspended when the company got into financial difficulty.
