My name is Caitlin "Tee" Versele. I am a Youth Services professional working in public libraries. One of my biggest passions in this field is Multicultural, Disability, and LGBTQ+ Representation in youth media, as well as working towards equitable access to information.I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from Eastern Michigan University in 2018, initially starting the program with the intent of working in character design for the animation industry. As I completed my program however, I had fallen out of love with drawing full-time. I still love to do it as a hobby and for gifts for my loved ones! However, I realized that commercial art was not where my heart wanted to be. Soon after graduating, my many positive experiences in public libraries and museums over the years inspired me to apply for the Wayne State graduate program of Library and Information Sciences. I intended to focus on the Archival program as a lover of Art History. However, soon after starting my program I focused my love of art, my personal love of children's literature, and my social justice passions. This led me to switch concentrations, from Archives to Children's Librarianship. I thrived in and loved my Youth Services classes, especially my Multicultural Services class. I am a loud, passionate, funny, and warm member of all workforces I have been a part of. I have frequently been given positive feedback on my exceptional Customer Service skills; bubbly personality; and, according to one of my former coworkers, calming and melodic voice. I love to make everyone feel welcome and valued on my professional teams, and I will never turn down a friendly chat.
