Teel Riggs founded Facade Research Collaborative after a decade in the industry. She has collaborated with architects in the United States, Asia, and Australia on everything from new custom facades for supertall towers, to thoughtful retrofits of historically sensitive facades. She brings focus on empirical performance and technical excellence regardless of the scale of the project.Teel studied architecture and teaches at Columbia University GSAPP, where she is an Adjunct Assistant Professor. Her academic research focuses on material analysis, complex fabrication processes, and energy efficiency. She also has in depth knowledge of energy code requirements, and was part of Urban Green Council’s task force to determine the facade performance requirements for Zone Green 2.0 in the New York City Zoning Code.
