Teelan Durham B.S, NRP, FP-C has dedicated his career to helping those most in need on a daily basis. Teelan continuously works to hone his skills in medicine and pre-hospital operations while striving to find ways to improve the skills and workflow of first responders and hospital providers. In his spare time he can be found working to maintain the success and functionality of Durham Land and Cattle, his family ranch outside of Ennis. From a young age Teelan has been a part of and a leader of teams of people, from cowboys gathering cattle, to multiple sports teams at multiple levels, to leading crews of high functioning first responders.Teelan started his career first as a paramedic, before being given the chance to function as a Field Training officer, ultimately being named Lead Field Training Officer of AMR Bozeman. Teelan then transitioned into a new role as a Firefighter Paramedic where he was able to realize that his true passion lies with medicine, specifically pre-hospital emergency medicine, and those who perform that job. Upon transitioning back to EMS, Teelan returned to practicing as a field paramedic as well as functioning as a field training officer. Eventually, Teelan was promoted to Supervisor, leading a team of up to 10 other EMT’s and Paramedics responding to interfacility and 911 calls in the greater Gallatin County. During this time Teelan worked diligently to improve training platforms to improve the confidence and skills of first responders while simultaneously improving patient outcomes. Operating in a unique area that offers both extremely rural as well as city EMS operations, Teelan quickly saw a need to improve training and communication amongst responders and hospitals. Teelan was then fortunate enough to be chosen to be a part of the team to start the first hospital-based air medical program in southwest Montana, and currently works alongside a talented group of Nurses, Flight Medics, and Pilots as a Flight Paramedic with MedFlight-Bozeman.Teelan’s goal is to continuously strive to help develop, implement, and sustain systems to improve the lives of responders and providers; in turn improving the care and outcomes of patients. Teelan enjoys everything outdoors whether it be working on his fledgling golf game, fly fishing on the amazing rivers around Montana, training and competing in crossfit competitions, or training and riding horses.
