Software Engineer==============• A lead developer of proprietary distributed data framework which synchronizes data across mobile devices and backend services written mainly in Obj-C. My work includes designing and implementing the core data structure, synchronization algorithm, and a presence lookup module for the cloud service. This is a core framework of Wavify’s large scale collaboration service.• Developed a WebSocket+REST backend service using nodejs and also an Obj-C client library for iOS application to interact with the service.• Introduced and encouraged some Scrum processes and XP practices to the team such as daily standup meeting, sprint and continuous integration which led to shorter development cycle, faster release and better code quality.• Helped control the release cycle and acted as a lead Git adviser to other team members.Platform Engineer==============• Designed and built a cloud storage appliance. => Researched, benchmarked and chose proper technology stack for the system. => Developed system core components to manage underlying hardware storage. => Developed command-line user interface which interacts with the core components. => Fine-tuned the appliance for optimal performance with custom-built kernel and proper configurations.• Developed unified remote firmware upgrade scripts for most appliances of the company. They make the process cleaner, faster and easier for the support team.• Rewrote platform build scripts to support firmware packaging and distribution, and able to build with latest stable version of the base platform from upstream.• A member of an emergency support team that analyzes and resolves critical issues of the storage and email appliances in production environment for a large number of client sites.

IT system and software development consulting.• Developed an information system with a pile of forms and reports for government sector using Java, Struts, JPA and Oracle.• Developed a small Java tool to migrate data from old database schema to new database schema in Oracle. The tool also resolves some data inconsistencies and duplication such as multiple duplicated records of the province name due to the old schema design.• Tuned performance of the system running on Solaris to serve thousands of officers across the country.

Web application development using LAMP stack• Developed a web-based customizable workflow system with report generation feature.
