I am currently a student at Bellingham Technical College and at the Northwest Career and Technical Academy (NWCTA). At NWCTA, I have gained many skills and experiences; some of those skills are: animal restraint, safe animal handling procedures, veterinary clinical laboratory procedures, office procedures, medical math, medical terminology, animal behavior, animal anatomy and physiology, immunology, care of hospitalized/kenneled animals and more. I am currently striving to become a certified veterinary assistant at NWCTA and one day hope to become a licensed veterinary technician. I am passionate about animals and I want to help with animal welfare, even if it’s by simply helping animals in a veterinary clinic. My main interests are in small animal medicine (cats, dogs, etc.) because I grew up with small animals and I currently own and care for a dog, two cats, a parakeet, and some chickens.
