Ms HO Teh Eng, currently pursuing her PhD, holds a Master of Arts (Education) from University of Nottingham. She graduated from University of Malaya in Chemical Engineering and started her career as a Process Engineer in a multinational company. She resigned in year 2001 as a R&D Manager to pursue her interest in education. Ms Ho’s passion in young children’s education lead her to develop a creative, hands-on and fun science programme named Little Scientists; targeting at preschoolers. This programme -- a spiral curriculum that scaffold children's learning, impacts 50,000 preschool children annually. One of the programmes that uses blended learning approach has won the Asia Pacific ICT Award for Best of e-Learning category. She strives to inspire every child to love learning.She has been actively involved in conducting teachers’ professional development courses and workshops specifically to the preschool teachers. She and her team conduct trainings to more than 1000 teachers annually. Currently, there are more than 700 preschools using the hands-on science program. These preschools are located in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, China and Hong KongIn 2014, as recognition for her entrepreneurship, she was awarded the prestigious Women of Excellence Award. She was also awarded the Creative Young Entrepreneur Award (Malaysia Top Ten) from Junior Chamber International (JCI), Malaysia in 2009 and Cradle CIP Catalyst Grant 2015. Other awards won by her company were Intellectual Property Creators Challenge (IPCC) 2015, APICTA (Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Award), 2015, Sin Chew Business Excellence Award 2015, The Star Business Award, SOBA 2014 (Top 10 Finalist). At present, she is the CEO of ALFA and Friends Sdn Bhd, the Academic Director for the Professional Diploma in Integrated STEM Education, accredited from LONDON Examinations Board, and is the ARNEC country representative for Malaysia.
