About Tejas Samant, Phd, Els

A biomedical research scientist by training, I currently pursue generation of clinical evaluation reports. My research training at the Medical University of South Carolina mainly involved utilizing biochemistry, cell biology and molecular biology tools to study the role of sphingolipids, specifically, C16-ceramide, in chemoresistance of colon cancer cells. My postdoctoral research at the Magee Women's Research Institute/University of Pittsburgh supported my transition into translational research. Being part of a clinical and scientific research team enabled me to gain insight into these 2 sides of drug discovery and how they interact with each other during the development of a new therapy.From the clinical side I progressed to the medical device companies side in my current position, wherein I learned to extract and analyze source data generated by medical device companies to write CERs. I've managed a Medical Devices/Clinical Evaluation Reports (CERs) team for Cactus Communications, am pursuing the same path in TATA Elxsi. I look forward to new experiences and challenges in my career.
