Research Engineer
CurrentBeep develops planning and orchestration platforms to facilitate the fleet-scale management of multi-passenger autonomous vehicles, with a focus on integration with existing public transit operations. I am in the R&D team as an expert in fleet management for public transit, responsible for algorithm development for demand forecasting, path and fleet planning, vehicle assignment, and block scheduling. I report to the CTO and work directly with other product development leaders to design and lead the implementation of services to enable scheduling of autonomous fleets in Beep’s autonomous service platform. I work to enable both on-demand and fixed-route autonomous mobility solutions with my algorithm development. I also managed multiple teams of interns and part-time workers while supporting projects developing AI/ML tools for in-cabin use in transit operations and rider safety, routing algorithms, and generative AI applications. I was awarded Beep's Rising Star Award for 2023.Responsibilities include:* Leading transit planning algorithm development for Beep’s autonomous services platform* Serving as a subject matter expert for approaches to public transit operations and optimization* Interfacing with Beep’s public transit customers and prospects to understand market requirements and needs* Contributing to the design and implementation of scheduling and optimization services for Beep’s autonomous service platform* Working with product development leaders to facilitate the implementation of software features across Agile teams* Supporting field testing of newly released software features* Contributing to the development of research publications, white papers, and intellectual property filings
