Kohl’s Cash Abuse Reduction in Returns SystemsTechnical Lead of the Kohl’s Cash Abuse reduction project (Gift receipted return and others) was to reduce abuse of Kohl’s Cash and to increase our bottom line (projected $100M annually). This was another collaborative project with other teams and we needed to make sure that the solution not only eliminated the abuse but the performance of the Returns System was not affected due to extra processing needed. The efficacy of this project was beyond the initial expectation - At the end of the fiscal year, it was probably $200M "saved" in less than a year in operation. This and some other initiatives included in this project have seen the reduction of Returns by a significant number.Flexible Store Hours ProjectDesign and Performance Lead of the FSH project enabling stores to open 24 hours a day and for any duration. This provided the stores to open longer during the holiday season enabling customers to shop at their convenience and help drive sales. The challenges to do so were many fold, especially considering the fact that most of the backend processing was legacy and had system constraints that was not flexible. Due to the redesign, increased the performance of a critical component by 100%.Sales Transaction Hub Phase 2Technical Lead for Sales Transaction Hub Phase 2, a multi year initiative to completely re-engineer the collection of Sales Transaction Data from the Selling Channels, cleansing, canonicalization and distribution throughout the enterprise. Led a team of 6 developers to implement 7 new applications and re-engineer 2 existing applications. Led the design of the critical messaging system in collaboration with Infrastructure team. Led in the performance tuning of all the apps to achieve a targeted average rate of 250 TPS. Involved in the recruitment of consultant developers in the team.

The existing mainframe based system was slow and struggled during the holiday seasons due to very high volume of sales transactions. Designed a 2-part solution to eliminate the bottleneck by splitting the processing and aggregating of data. Led a 3 member team to analyze, design, develop, troubleshoot, performance tune, deploy and support the project. Increased performance by 1500%.Sales Transaction Hub Phase 1Design Lead of Sales Hub Phase I, a high volume and critical middleware system. This was the replacement for a mainframe based system that was under performing during the peak holiday season.Daily Flash Sales ReportingReengineered java based Daily Flash Sales Reporting applications for Senior Management and Store LOB associates. Processes real-time Sales Transactions sourced from selling channels. Aggregates and displays Sales and Returns information by Selling Channels. Sales information provided by the system is leveraged by Kohl’s when reporting sales performance to Walls Street. Store Performance DashboardDesigned, implemented and supported enterprise wide Business Intelligence solution from Business Objects. Integrated the back-end reporting with a java based web portal for Store and Corporate Associates with single sign-on. Designed and developed an interactive dashboard using Adobe Flash integrating with Business Objects via QaaWS toolset.

Implemented Java based data integration between legacy application and MetaSolv OSS System using CORBA. Primary responsibilities include design, development, testing and maintenance of the API code. Badgernet Converged Network Web Application: The application was designed to facilitate interaction between the State of Wisconsin users, the Telco partners and Norlight Network Management Center. Managed more than 2200 sites all over Wisconsin. Tracks Orders, Services, Network Elements, Trouble Ticketing and overall reporting. Designed with Struts framework and web technologies using Oracle Jdeveloper with cvs as the source control software.Business Objects: System Administration (including installation, upgrade, planning, deploying and user management), Universe Design, Reporting (including web reporting).Oracle Business Intelligence Dashboard: System Administrator. Evaluated, Designed and implemented Order Dashboard using Oracle Portal as the delivery mechanism, Oracle Discoverer as the content generator and Oracle Discoverer Administrator as the Metadata End User Layer generator.Sales Management System: Management of sales rep, sales quota, sales and report generation for sales commission. Developed in Power Builder.
