In 2018, I graduated in Biochemistry at Faculty of Sciences of University of Porto. During my bachelor's final project, I had the opportunity to study new therapeutic options in melanoma treatment at the Faculty of Pharmacy of University of Porto, which instigated my interest in cancer research. Subsequently, I engaged in the Master Course in Oncology and in September 2021 I obtained my master's degree in Oncology at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar of University of Porto (ICBAS). On my first master's year, I did an internship in hemato-oncology clinic at Portuguese Oncology Institute of Porto, which drew my attention for the clinical challenges in the field. In line with this, I developed my master's thesis at Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Saúde of the University of Porto (i3S), focusing on the role of myeloid cells in T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia development. During this time, I had the chance to participate in several national and international scientific conferences where I presented my work, which resulted in a winning award (research grant) for the best oral presentation in basic research at iMed AstraZeneca Foundation Innovate Competition 2020. In the meantime, I worked as a laboratory technician at CGC Genetics, Porto, developing next-generation sequencing tools. Most recently, I enrolled in the Doctoral Programme in Biomedical Sciences from ICBAS, and I am currently developing my PhD thesis in the Intercellular Communication and Cancer research group at i3S.
