I had the pleasure of working at Defence Force Recruiting/ADF Careers for just over seven years, moving across contracts from Manpower to Adecco in July 2023. ManpowerGroup delivered capability to the Australian Defence Force (ADF) recruiting to this contract for 20+ years. This required our teams to provide strategic direction on sourcing and attraction, and assessment of eligibility and suitability, through successfully managing candidates into careers with the ADF.As the Team Manager for Professional Services Recruitment, I was responsible for driving, implementing and continuously improving our teams’ approach to attracting and retaining specialist skills into the Australian Defence Force. I worked closely with our Brand, Media and Marketing teams to ensure our attraction strategies were dynamic and fluid to ensure a quick response to market changes.Our nationally dispersed team delivered capability for the ADF by recruiting highly skilled and qualified professionals across Engineering, Healthcare, Public Relations, Legal, Education, Training, and Chaplaincy, along with a number of other hard to fill areas.
