Terri (formerly La Fleur) Markle is founder of TLF Publications, Inc. and publisher emeritus of La Fleur’s Magazine. Her son Byron La Fleur is CEO of TLF Publications. She worked at two lottery trade publications before she started TLF Publications.Her first editorship was with Public Gaming Magazine. She served as editor of PGRI from 1980-1982. She then joined Gaming & Wagering Business, based in New York City. During her next 10 years with IGWB, she was promoted to associate and then senior editor. In 1990, she launched TLF Publications, Inc., a family-run concern. The firm specializes in gathering and disseminating information on the worldwide lottery industry. TLF has published more than five dozen books, including the World Lottery Almanac, the European Lottery Abstract, Australasian Lottery Abstract, Principles of Contemporary Lottery Marketing and the World Gambling Abstract. In 1993, TLF Publications launched La Fleur’s Lottery World. In September 2000, it was renamed La Fleur’s Magazine. In 1996, TLF Publications hosted its first lottery conference called La Fleur’s Lottery Symposium. The spring conference rotates to different cities each year. TLF Publications also organizes an annual fall lottery conference. In 2015, the firm launched its annual summer lottery conference in Canada. Markle is also a popular speaker at industry conferences and has made presentations on gambling for newspaper editors, the NCSL convention, the Intertoto conventions, the Wertheim Schroeder financial conference, AILE Congress, SciNet conferences, NASPL, EL Congress, WLA Conference and ICE Conference.
