My college career began with working part time jobs to acquire specific skills and trades that I knew would be useful for my future career. I learned to be comfortable being uncomfortable as I lead a team of college painters to transform people's homes, and manage whatever induced response the customer exhibited from the result of our workI soon began to build up my own experience for my future career in a chemistry lab developing solutions and techniques to optimize our overall objective. I worked with polymers and coagulants, and dealt with highly toxic and corrosive chemicals. I created my own experiments to solve problematic situations. My analytical skills were greatly enhanced during this experience.My involvement with mission driven organizations including Young Life and Feed My Starving Children have developed my leadership skills. Both nonprofit organizations require me to invest into relationships with people that will benefit the purpose driven mission. In both groups, I have been called to a capacity of leadership which manages whole teams and organizes and constructs team meetings frequently.
