Donald W. Hitzeman is a Senior Attorney with the venerable law firm of Reid & Hellyer, APC, in its Murrieta office. He has been licensed to practice law in California since 1983. His practice focuses on business litigation and employment law, business formations and transactions, as well as estate planning needs, I strive daily to provide my clients with timely and useful legal advice based on competence and integrity, because these qualities still matter.He is admitted to practice in: California State Courts; U.S. District Court, Central and Southern Districts of California; U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces; and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.I graduated from Whittier College School of Law (JD, cum laude, 1983) and was Executive Editor of the Whittier Law Review.He practiced for 12 years with Parker & Irwin, APC, as a Shareholder and Director, focusing on employment law, workers’ compensation defense, and appeals before the California Supreme Court and Courts of Appeal. I am proud to have served 8 years as an officer and attorney in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps, practicing criminal law at trial and appellate levels, trying 50+ jury/bench trials in courts-martial, and filing briefs before military courts and the United States Supreme Court, and arguing before military appellate courts.He briefed and argued cases before California appellate courts, resulting in several published opinions, including Southern California Edison v. WCAB, 58 CalApp4th 766 (CA2 1997), rev. denied, 1998 CalLEXIS 512 (Cal. 1998).Instructed and lectured locally and nationally on Workers’ Compensation Law, employment law, trial advocacy and child abuse prosecutions. He and his wife of 36 years raised five children in the Temecula Valley since 1992, and are involved in the community and St. Catherine Church. My primary goal is to offer clients high quality, competent and, most importantly, ethical legal services at all times.
