I was the third Engineer at Facebook London, and had the privilege of helping the business scale the London office to 1500 engineers (and 4000 staff) during my time there.I was on the founding team for what is now Workplace (~6 people). I took the Product from inception to a major strategic pillar for Facebook, a $1B valued Group within the company and approx 600 people (150 in Engineering). Workplace is unique among the Meta family of apps for being the only product (other than Facebook itself) to have been created by the company.

After MX Telecom was acquired by OpenMarket, I became responsible for all the companies 'Live Services' applications. Broadly speaking, any product that used our Telephony, SMS and Location APIs to provide real time product experiences for our users.

I joined MX Telecom as engineer ~#10 and a staff of ~30. Starting as a Software Engineer, I transitioned into a management role and eventually sat on the Senior Leadership Team. In 2010 the company was acquired by Amdocs/Open Market. At this point I was leading approx 25% of a company acquired for $104m. MX Telecom had been profitable from day one and had taken no investor funding.After the acquisition I spent a year at Open Market aiding the integration between the two companies before looking for something different.
