The Tax University is an online continuing education provider for the tax preparer industry. I am a co-owner. I write and/or edit all of the courses that are taught. Courses teach all aspects of preparing the individual 1040 and related forms. This business was developed to train our tax staff and sales to outside tax preparers began in 2012. This business was kept when the tax business sold.

As VP of Finance, my primary duties included establishing and implementing all corporate procedures and policies for financial management. Particular duties included managing the A/P process, overseeing company payroll, implementing cash controls, managing cash and debt instruments, creating and maintaining budgets for individual offices and the overall company as a whole, creating and maintaining various performance reports and compiling financial statements. Because of the size of the company I also oversaw other functional areas of the business. I negotiated leases and all major purchases. I oversaw our compliance staff and was responsible for both internal compliance (with company procedures and policies) and external compliance (with IRS rules and regulations). I managed the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) required for selling franchises in the US. In addition, I maintained client lists for marketing and retention purposes and oversaw our service evaluation programs.
