Currently heading up the product design and development of Fanblock.com, a sports fan engagement platform bringing Clubs, Teams & Fans closer together; and World First Design, a Design consultancy with a strong bias for products and services that uplift communities and the environment.Previously a founding partner of dy/dx, a digital transformation practice helping businesses adapt and grow in rapidly changing environments; interrogating business challenges to move from useful ideas to in-market solutions that are actually used.As a senior consultant in Brand Building, Digital Marketing, Social Media, Design Thinking and Customer Experience, Templar has worked in a wide range of categories and brands including BMW, MINI, Nissan, Vodacom, Cell C, MTN, Clinique Happy, Ben Sherman, Pringle of Scotland, Sun International, Microsoft, South African Tourism, FNB, Virgin Money, Standard Bank, ABSA, Nedbank, Teba Bank and African Bank, Liberty Life, Iced Zoo, Provita Crunchyvites & PPC Cement.His marketing and design career spans several creative agencies and corporate. Most recently, as Head of Digital Marketing for the Investec Group, he was responsible for the development and execution of the brand’s digital marketing strategy across all customer and employee touch-points.Prior to that, he was the MD and Head of Client Strategy for Gloo Digital Design - South Africa’s top-performing digital agency for eight years) - serving brands such as BMW, MINI, FNB, Vodacom (Vodafone in SA), South African Tourism and Samsung, Glooburg (Gloo Johannesburg) grew from 4 to 140 people. After driving “Heavy Digital Media” at South Africa’s first integrated agency, TBWA\tool communications, he founded and lead independent digital agency, Blink New Media for ten years before a joint venture which created Blue Apple Interactive.Along this journey, he has collected many creative and digital awards, from Loeries to Midas, Assegais and Bookmark awards. He has also been a judge on many of these awards panels as well as a keynote speaker and panellist on social media, digital marketing and animation. He has also lectured on digital marketing at the AAA and the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) and sat on the advisory boards of Wits digital arts and the University of Johannesburg (UJ). Templar was a founding member of DIMA (Digital Interactive Media Association) an active, founding member of SDN South Africa (Service Design Network).
