While at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), I was part of the Digital Imaging and Remote Sensing (DIRS) Laboratory at the Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science, a department within the College of Science. My research and development activities are concentrated in several areas, including a wide variety of image processing techniques and algorithm development, spectral/feature band optimization methods, multi-sensor data merging, image integration with geographic information systems, as well as radiation propagation models, longwave infrared and multispectral synthetic scene generation. My thesis topic was concerned with the persistent monitoring of natural resources for local water quality using land-cover land- use (LCLU) maps from multiple sensors, and my postdoctoral study was focused on change detection methods for the identification of difficult terrain vegetation (Arabica coffee).Specialties: Remote Sensing, Spectral Analysis, Digital Image Processing, Multivariate Statistical Analysis, Fourier Analysis, Software Development, Ecosystem Modeling

Opir ScientistData Interfuse May 2016 - Jul 2016Developed global change detection model, amenable to parallel processing, and allowed for immediate data retrieval by customer analysts. -
Principle Imaging ScientistExelis Feb 2013 - Nov 2015UsMy service at Exelis included the organization of multiple stakeholder requirements, and delivering tasks that met joint stakeholder objectives. Exelis development activities included the design of calibration Con-Ops and IV&V for enterprise level imaging systems, the development of SIRIS Joint Collaboration Cell (JCC) software for Full Motion Video (FMV) object tracking, a study of multi-temporal spectral exploitation methods for 3-D Mapping, and the building of customer relationships through product demonstrations and customized tool development. -
Field Support RepresentativeSpace Computer Corporation Apr 2013 - Sep 2013Subject Matter Expert of VNIR-SWIR Hyperspectral Systems in the Afghanistan theater of war, for the Space Computer Corporation (SCC) Airborne Cueing and Exploitation Systems Hyperspectral (ACES HY) and Mars Plus (MSS+) sensors. My primary role was to quickly troubleshoot any sensor hardware and software issues. I also performed as a trusted advisor concerning hyperspectral data exploitation methods, and kept several organizations and their various levels of leadership aware of the weekly health and location of every sensor on the program.

Product Design Engineer Sr.The Si Organization, Inc. Jan 2012 - Jan 2013Under the name Intelligent Data Exploration and Analytics System (IDEAS), a new technology platform for global-scale data mining of satellite imagery was developed with me as a contributing Geospatial/IT SME and Project lead. This platform provides imagery to be used for geospatial modeling, mobile app development, and map creation. In my service as Project Lead of the ecommerce portion of IDEAS I managed the IDEAS Marketplace, and all contributions from the contracted Software Development Firm Qorvis Communications, LLC. An additional SI Organization contribution was as Project Lead for FMV Metadata Exploitation. This project involved using Python to monitor dynamically changing metadata information for visual and numerical reports of FMV stream and metadata quality. -
Postdoctoral ScientistRochester Institute Of Technology Aug 2010 - Aug 2011Rochester, Ny, UsIn the work entitled, “accurate and detailed mapping of the South Western Rwandan coffee bean plantations,” I proposed to create a persistent map-generation tool of the South Western Rwandan coffee bean plantations. The map created by this tool illustrates crop availability and production; affecting coffee bean harvest, quality, and management practices. Upon completion, project deliverables to the National University of Rwanda (NUR) Center for GIS and remote Sensing (CGIS) include a detailed map of the South Western Rwanda region along with timely, accurate information concerning coffee bean condition. The tool is left in Rwanda to autonomously provide updated maps before harvest. -
Graduate AssistantRochester Institute Of Technology Aug 2009 - May 2010Rochester, Ny, UsAs a Graduate Assistant I worked on several projects concerning ecosystem modeling and change detection. To name a few, I have made contributions both as an individual and as a team member when working with the World Bank on post-earthquake Haiti monitoring, the Department of Energy to collect and organize data for the remote sensing of iced lakes in Michigan, and as a primary contributor to the National Science Foundation Lake Kivu International Workshop in Gisenyi Rwanda. -
Research Scientist Co-OpGeospatial Systems May 2009 - Aug 2009Rochester, Ny, UsPerformed imagery analysis and radiometry for turbulent atmosphere radiation propagation.
