Operate the train in accordance with working manual procedures, safety and emergency procedures, following the timetable, specified operating procedures and environmental considerations. Carry out safety and emergency procedures. Identify, and where possible rectify train defects. Provide customers with correct and timely information about delays, emergency situations, and general customer travel information. Communicate with the line controller or other personnel, for example, Signal Operators, Train Maintenance and Station Staff about train delays, safety, security and emergency matters. Carry out train operational safety checks prior to entering service. Safely dispose of the train at the end of service. Drive the train in accordance with line practices. Ensure a personal responsibility for an up to date knowledge of events that may affect train timings through reading notices and traffic circulars. Gather information required for duty for example, train times, train location and train route. Ensure the train is brought into service at the specified time and follow the scheduled train timetable. Maintain passenger safety at all times and complete incident report forms when incidents occur on duty. Show less
