About Tenecia Brown

As a multifaceted professional with a passion for education and storytelling, I wear many hats with dedication and enthusiasm. I currently serve as a Math Instructional Coach at International Leadership of Houston (ILTexas), where I leverage my diverse teaching background, including high school animation, yearbook, and 1st and 3rd grade Math, to support and inspire both students and educators. My approach is grounded in servant leadership, always drawing inspiration from my team and cherishing the connections with all my former students. In addition to my educational endeavors, I am the founder of Black Women Publish, a platform dedicated to empowering and supporting aspiring authors, particularly women of color, in their journey to self-publishing success. Through this initiative, I provide valuable resources and guidance on writing, self-publishing, and marketing, helping authors bring their stories to life.I also created Beyond the Bookshelf, a video podcast that delves into the compelling backstories behind books. This podcast features one-on-one conversations with authors, uncovering the powerful narratives that shape their works. My experience working with high-profile authors highlighted a void in the market for this type of content, leading to the creation of this unique platform. My book, Her Imprint: Lessons in Love, Relationships, and Womanhood as Taught by My Mother, is a deeply personal true story that explores the joys, pains, lessons, and loss of my mother from my perspective. It is a journey of self-discovery and healing, dedicated to my mother and myself, with the hope of helping others through shared experiences.Outside of my professional life, my favorite role is being an Aunt to my niece, Ivey. This personal joy fuels my passion and dedication in all my endeavors.
