I am a professional dancer and teacher with over 10 years of experience. My goal as a dance teacher is to help guide students not only through dance steps, but through their own mind. I help my students with their confidence their and self talk by encouraging them to explore the unknown within movement, and offering up support and help them reframe when the self doubt kicks in. By working with various communities with different backgrounds, whether it be in age or class or race, I stopped treating dance classes as a one size fits all experience, and developed a great skill in listening and understanding the individual needs of my students. I now work with Indigenous youth in their communities as a mentor and choreographer. After completing my Social Service Worker degree, my goal is to bridge dance and social services together in an after school program for youth.
