31 years ago, I walked through the doors of the Jean Donovan Catholic Worker House in St. Cloud, Minnesota -- and fell in love. I didn't know it at the time, but I had found out what I wanted to do with my life. Since then, I have worked in homeless shelters, group homes, and other residential programs for people with disabilities or are experiencing homeless, hunger, and extreme poverty. This is the work I love, and now I'm expanding my career. In the past 31 years, l've made over ten thousand pots of soup. On average, these have been three gallon batches, made from scratch. Presently, I'm plying my trade with a cozy little assisted living facility, but my work with the homeless and poor still continues. Ten Thousand Pots of Soup is the name of the organization, and our mission is to serve -- and share with others the absolute joy of service. Eventually, we will be opening The Cafe Agape -- a community kitchen and eatery available to all -- for what they can afford to pay. For more information on this mission, drop me a line!
