Teo Hidalgo Nácher is an architect and Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture at Xi’an Jiatong-Liverpool University. His practice-based research focuses on architectural strategies relevant to the construction of everyday life and in the way particular interventions can contribute to make more things possible providing better-balanced, complex and inclusive ecosystems.His work explores architecture’s capacity to transform and preserve the existing through interventions that operate simultaneously at different scales and speeds understanding interiors, buildings, landscapes and territories as part of an interconnected network.Teo came to China in 2012 to work at the East China Architectural Design and Research Institute in Shanghai where he developed high profile projects, research and award winning competitions entries such as the Urumuqi Diwopu International Airport, the Eastbund Lighttowers, the Bao’an Cultural Center, the Sanlin Bridge or the Zhejiang Cultural Center all awarded 1st Prize in international competitions. Since 2006 he has develop his own projects and competitions in both China and Spain such as the Ripollés-Manrique House, the Westbund Penthouse or the Europan15 Barcelona (2nd Prize) Teo has worked as a consultant for the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation in Venezuela and as an architect at the office of Elias Torres & Jose Antonio Martinez Lapeña in Barcelona.
