When I first started my career as an engineer, I was eager to show my capabilities and wanting to win in all situations. My approach was confrontational and sometimes unforgiving. I won yet I lost. I started to realise that there is a much better approach to getting things done, creating a win for everyone. And that is to genuinely thinking for the interest of your partners and speaking to the heart. I used the same principles and applied it to all my customers and my co-workers within the company and also to our vendors. I enjoyed great satisfaction as I receive praises from my partners and that gave me greater motivation to build great relationships.
