About Teona (Nešović) Birkner

Year 2018 in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. City museum hall. A small promotion of the first edition of "Eidos", a philosophy journal. Me, a final year high school student, with a feeling that I can change the world. (The feeling is still there.) I was enjoying the discussion and the storm of ideas and, walking home, couldn't stop thinking that a lot more people should have been there to hear it. After a few days and a bit of research, I was sitting with a university professor of philosophy who was kind to accept my invitation for a meeting. We were developing the idea of initiating a philosophy café to bring philosophical thoughts out of the academic circle. I am proud to say that the Philosophy Café still lives in our town. That's how you change the world.I love philosophy. But, just imagine how I move mountains in the area I am experienced in, educated for and passionate about: democracy and citizens' engagement, media and disinformation, peace, security and post-conflict reconciliation.
