I built a new team in BCG that is responsible for mobile app and platform architecture, development governance and established best practice guidelines. The cloud based mobile platform we built has enterprise grade security and reliability. It is now forming the basis for a number of BCG projects, both mobile and web.My team supported the launch of over 40 internal mobile apps including SWIFT, ReAct native and Ionic iOS apps, Android apps and mobile websites. We also migrated approx 50 apps to a web-based CD pipeline for better control and security.

Initially working as a consultant, I was responsible for the delivery of the TUI Digital Assistant mobile and tablets apps for all TUI international businesses on both Apple and Android devices.The TUI apps are built on a sophisticated architectural framework which is needed to facilitate separate app builds (with different functionality) for each market. This is complicated by the unique underlying platform in each of the international businesses - necessitating a middleware abstraction layer which I also managed. The app supports TUI customers through the full holiday lifecycle and has won travel industry awards.I was responsible for architecture, software development, infrastructure, operations and security, managing on-shore and off-shore teams.

Nektan develops and runs its own casino brands and provides a full service offering to white label partners - typically media companies.I was responsible for software architecture, the development process for both platform and games, infrastructure, technical operations and security. I was personally licensed by UKGC with responsibility for the company’s technology.- 21 casino sites launched in 13 month (from first site)- Roulette, Blackjack and 22 slot games developed - Inbound and outbound integrations for game content (NYX, IGT, etc)- 2 PSP integrations (Myriad and EPG)21 casino sites launched in 13 month (from first site)- Mobile optimised lobby - implemented with adaptive technologies- Platform operated at 99.999% availabilityNektan won the contract with News UK (against established competition) to build and operate the “Sun Play” service (incorporating soft games) which launched in May 2015.I built and managed agile scrum teams making weekly releases to production. Defined delivery process. The platform was developed in Java (using Couchbase and MySQL) with full automated test coverage. Clients developed in Angular and Swift. Games were developed in JavaScript. Load and security testing was deeply integrated into the delivery process. Great staff retention in a tough market.

I delivered experimental TV services as CTO of a JV between Betfair and TopUp TV, then moved to the mobile side of the business to build the internal mobile technology team. I delivered world class mobile sports betting products :- Over 100% YoY mobile growth for the 5 years- Nearly 50% Betfair customers used our mobile products in 2012- Over 44m bets placed (over £2.2bn wagered) by mobile in 2012- Mobile became the largest acquisition channel for the businessMy 7 delivery teams were located in Romania, Portugal and London. We fully embraced an Agile, Scrum based working model.I also managed the mobile innovation function.

I was responsible for all software development, QA, infrastructure, and broadcast operations at one of the largest independent interactive TV production and technology companies.My team delivered “Red Button” applications, operational platforms and fully out-sourced services to leading broadcasters including NTL / Telewest (now Virgin Media), BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Turner, BT Vision.I led the development a text-to-TV platform which provided a sophisticated interactive environment for mobile phone interaction with a broadcast stream. We set up our own studio to broadcast 50 hours / day of live shows based on this platform for customers including ITV. I built the infrastructure to launch 2 interactive betting channels on the Virgin Media platform, delivered the front end applications and managed the daily operation.
