For the first 5 years of my nursing career, I worked in an LTAC setting where I gained knowledge and confidence in providing care for patients with acute needs. The skills I gained from this experience involved caring for patients on ventilators, PEG tubes, PICC lines, difficult peripheral line starts, and wound vac therapy. Currently, I work on a Med-Surg/ortho floor with the main focus on orthopedic patients. Time management is essential to this fast past work environment.
