Terence Grandy embarked on his Vehicles for Change journey in 2021, initially joining as an intern through the VFC Full Circle Auto Repair and Training Center Program. This program not only teaches automotive mechanics skills but also offers formerly incarcerated individuals the chance to rebuild their lives and break the cycle of recidivism. Having been previously incarcerated, Terence found a new opportunity for a career in the automotive industry through this training program, realizing his lifelong dream.Humble, personable, and a true asset to the VFC family, Terence took the second chance afforded to him by the Full Circle Auto Repair and Training Center Program and elevated it to new heights. Driven by a desire to take a different path, he set ambitious goals, with completing the program topping the list. Following his graduation from the program, Terence, inspired and grateful, transitioned seamlessly into a full-time career at VFC in 2022.In 2023, Terence transitioned from the garage side of the shop to "Subject Matter Expert" on the Vehicles for Change Virtual Reality platform (VFC-VR.) As a content creator for the VFC-VR training program, Terence pre-records training content, compiles VR study guides, and imparts valuable knowledge to interns, ensuring they utilize the power of VR as an effective learning tool.Outside of his work at VFC, Terence's quest for knowledge never ends. Devoting four days a week at Lincoln Technical Institute, in their advanced auto training program, he envisions earning an AA degree in Electrical Engineering shortly after graduating.On a personal note, Terence takes pride in being the devoted father 1 daughter and 3 sons. Committed to serving as a positive influence in their lives, he seizes every opportunity to demonstrate that with determination and a focused mindset, one can achieve anything. I speak for VFC to gain more funding so that we can train more incarcerated and returning citizens in the automotive field. We award cars to low income household so that they can have a better chance at a successful career and life with their kids.
