Currently the Chair for the Society of Cosmetic Chemists, Florida Chapter, a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization dedicated to the advancement of cosmetic science. Chair position is for 2024 - 25, served as Chair-Elect for 2022 - 23. The Florida Chapter of SCC organizes and facilitates the premiere global (biannual) symposium for Sun Care professionals, hosting 700+ attendees, presenters and exhibitors. The FLSCF is fully committed to increasing / improving the variety of ways that we as an organization can strengthen the personal care industry and careers for professional formulators in Florida, while increasing awareness of formulation as a career path for current university students.

The Florida Chapter of SCC organizes and hosts the premiere global (biannual) symposium for Sun Care professionals, hosting 500+ attendees, presenters and exhibitors.Assumed the Treasurer role one year prior to being elected (2007), since the elected 2006-7 Treasurer relocated for a position out of state. The role of Treasurer required active involvement in all aspects of planning and executing chapter activities, sound fiscal planning and cost control.

Responsible for all sunscreen formulation work for U.S. and European markets, familiarity with all pertinent regulations. Delivered on time formulations and compiled PIP for EU products. Acted as backup for QC Lab personnel with ability to run and troubleshoot all instrumentation as required.This companys product line was purchased by Sun & Skin Care Research in August 2008.

Responsible for reverse engineering sunscreen, sunless and aftersun formulations for the Alpha-to-Omega (private label) division of Hawaiian Tropic, meeting timelines as set forth by marketing, making clinical, SPF and safety submissions, informal stability testing and monitoring the process of scale-up. Specialized in emulsions but gained additional experience in delivering successful formulations of other product types (oils, sticks, hydroalcoholic).

Analytical chemist in a private forensic toxicology lab which processed medical examiner casework, police casework and clinical specimens. Hands-on experience with UV/VIS, HPLC, GC, GC/MS, HP-TLC and Abbott AXSYM. All work was conducted under strict chain-of-custody. Daily workload consisted of managing police and ME analytical toxicology assessments with "stat" drug screens received from area hospitals added in on a priority basis. Continuous area of responsibility was identifying and quantifying Opiates and Cocaine/BE in tox drug panels. Rewrote lab safety manual.
