CurrentI successfully launched EIFL’s Copyright and Libraries Programme helping to grow an international network of copyright librarians from Armenia to Zimbabwe. I support national copyright law reform, and advocate at relevant UN bodies for an international legal framework to benefit libraries and their users in the digital environment.I represent EIFL in negotiations with governments at WIPO, the World Intellectual Property Organization. In 2013, I participated in the Diplomatic Conference that adopted the Marrakesh Treaty for persons with print disabilities, now I am supporting implementation of the treaty at national level that has contributed to 16 countries joining the landmark treaty.I have created a wide range of resources on copyright and licensing including guides, policy briefings, case studies, position papers & statements, and model laws that have been translated into multiple languages. I have written many articles and blogs, organised events worldwide, and am a frequent speaker at conferences around the world. In 2015, I contributed as an invited expert to the Report of the UN Special Rapporteur in the field of cultural rights on Copyright policy and the right to science and culture. Through my extensive international work, I cooperate with many peer organisations and civil society coalitions in support of access to knowledge.
