However, a major portion of my duties was to support our freight logistics client with their day-to-day needs. I've researched rail sidings in locations across the country and negotiated the terms via phone and e-mail. I dispute freight invoices that are billed incorrectly and save our client thousands of dollars. I ensure that problems, such as overloaded cars, are handled promptly and efficiently. I create logistics routes to be economical for our client. I assist with research for company meetings with the railroad and prepare presentations and maintain spreadsheets.After my supervisor resigned, I was promoted to Railroad Logistics Manager. My primary responsibilities are now to support a major client in most railroad logistics situations as above, and to begin to learn negotiating techniques for rate renewals and car leases. Show less

After graduating, I was hired at Center for Behavioral Health as, essentially, an office assistant with the goal and plan for more. I started with the seemingly overwhelming project of sorting out and reconciling a full fiscal year of insurance billing for one location. I was told to handle it as I saw fit; I developed the full process that is still used in that office until this day. I was told to handle it as I saw fit; I developed the full process that is still used in that office until this day. Before that project was complete, I was given the insurance billing for another location and was handling health insurance billing for 325 patients.Following the insurance billing management, I began managing payroll for 100+ employees which included managing vacation requests, overtime calculations, payroll increase calculations, garnishment/levy setups, assisting & training employees with new-hire procedures, and researching problems related to the payroll system. Upon the departure of a co-worker, I was given the additional task of managing the company health and dental insurance policy. I learned how to add new coverage for new employees, cancel coverage for departing employees, handle and manage the documentation that comes with terminations, reconcile the monthly invoice, and negotiate terms for policy renewal.Finally, I managed all licenses and certifications for all 22 clinics. Because this particular task had never been relegated to the central office, I first had to collect all of the documentation. (This took months.) While collecting the documentation, I researched all of the license verification boards for each state that a clinic was located in so that I could run monthly checks on expiration dates. I developed a spreadsheet that maintained all collected data as well as a hard-copy file with copies of all active licenses.
