I knew from an early age that I would pursue a career in education, when I realized the joy I found in helping others understand and acquire knowledge. I began my career working with young children in a preschool setting, experiencing the amazing growth that occurs at each age from two years of age through five-years old. After five years, I was hired to work with a new program at Christian Academy of Louisville supporting students with Down Syndrome in the kindergarten and first grade classrooms. For two years I served as a source of support for the general education teachers as well as a for the students with Down Syndrome, helping everyone succeed, providing insights into best practices, and using best practices to meet my students' needs, while obtaining my first master's degree in Early Childhood Education.Upon moving to Florida, I began teaching second grade at a private school, Cornerstone Academy, and acquiring my professional teachering certificate. As the years passed, I taught kindergarten and first grade, as well as spending a year teaching at the secondary level while serving as assistant principal. It was that time as assistant principal that developed my love for developing and leading professional development, as well as curriculum mapping and curriculum development, which is why I pursued a second master's in Curriculum and Instruction. Throughout my years at Cornerstone Academy, I oversaw the school's VPK program, leading a small team of VPK educators and meeting state regulations. After nearly five years work at Cornerstone, I stepped into the public school sector, teaching high school mathematics for Levy County Schools. Within a year of working in the public school, I pursued my final master's in Educational Leadership and began seeking opportunities to serve my colleagues to further develop their professional skills.I am a driven and self-motivated leader seeking to improve and enhance education for students through collaboration with colleagues. I am Florida certified in Educational Leadership, Primary (3 years - 3rd grade), and Mathematics 6-12, and I also have my Reading Endorsement. I am a lifelong learner, as I recently completed Clinical Educator Training to mentor new educators.
