Responsible for all classroom instruction, curriculum development, and classroom management for 5 sections of 4th-8th grade students in topics including introduction to science, earth and space science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. All classes include a student focused hands on STEM approach. Also responsible for researching and acquiring new science materials, curriculum, and texts.

Consulted on STEM content for an in development cartoon for Nick, Jr. Feedback given on storyboards to ensure scientific content was appropriate and accurate. Provided additional scientific content that could be integrated into the story lines based on the story that was presented.STEM based cartoon "Blaze and the Monster Machines" premiered on Nick, Jr. on October 13, 2014.

Chicago, IL: University of Illinois at Chicago. * Designed and developed 9 unit curriculum with over 200 activities, including all teacher and student materials which are being implemented in high school chemistry classrooms. The Connected Chemistry Curriculum integrates computer simulations to help students view the submicroscopic level with the goal of improving chemistry knowledge and college readiness. Coordinated with layout designer, programmer and researchers to meet deadlines for unit production. Revised teacher and student materials utilizing student, teacher and researcher feedback from the classroom. Wrote materials and activities based on Illinois State Standards, PSAE, and National Science Education standards. Researched content for curriculum to strengthen connections to the real world for students.

Taught high school transformation biology and environmental science for one year. Taught high school transformation chemistry for two years. Served as lead chemistry teacher for one year.

* Designed and taught a summer enrichment program for Upward bound students in the areas of biology, chemistry, and physics. Utilized both traditional and no traditional teaching resources and techniques to help students have a better appreciation for science and prepare for the rigors of the college science classroom. In two summer institutes students learned through inquiry based strategies including building paper roller coasters to develop physic concepts, dissecting fetal pigs to develop anatomy and physiology concepts, obtaining CPR certification, designing their own race cars, using the novel “Fantastic Voyage” to enhance literacy and scientific language skills

Served as case manager for 30-40 individuals with disabilities living in group homes and private homes in several communities. 24-Hr on call duties included behavior management, transportation, and securing medical and psychological treatment.Provided counseling and life-skills training. Specialized in creating visual systems and working with adults diagnosed with autism disorders. Created Individualized service plans and behavioral programs. Managed 20-25 residential staff.
