As Deputy Director/General Counsel, I:-Partner with CEO/ED and the Board on developing long‐term operational and strategic plans-Lead the administrative management team handling Strategy, HR, Operations and IT-Represent Legal Aid Chicago's interests externally in partnership with ED/CEO and Chief External Relations Officer-Co-Manage Union relations with HR Director-Serve on Executive Committee-Manage the legal affairs of Legal Aid Chicago and Legal Action Chicago-Provide legal counsel to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer/Executive Director (CEO/ED), and senior management-Advise on LSC compliance; risk exposure; major contracts and transactions; labor and employment issues; litigation; and external counsel management

As General Counsel, I manage the legal affairs of Legal Aid Chicago and Legal Action Chicago. I provide legal counsel to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer/Executive Director (CEO/ED), and senior management. I advise on LSC compliance; risk exposure; major contracts and transactions; labor and employment issues; litigation; and external counsel management. I also continue to maintain a caseload of cases in the Children & Families Practice Group, managing our OP Appeals Project in partnership with Dentons, and directly representing survivors of domestic and sexual violence in protective order and family law cases.

I am a Supervisory Attorney in the Children and Families Practice Group, focusing primarily on representing low-income clients, many of whom have been victims of domestic and sexual violence, in all aspects of family law and protective order cases.

Commercial Litigator who represents clients in a wide variety of commercial and business litigation matters, including employment, business torts, consumer fraud, trade secrets, and breach of contract cases. Practical litigation experience includes first chair and second chair trial representation; drafting complaints, dispositive motions, bench memoranda, and appellate briefs; and managing oral and written discovery.

I provided consultant services to hospital and clinic systems as they installed our electronic medical records. From the time of the sale through the time the end users started using the system, I helped with design, validation, testing, training, change management, change control, go-live planning, go-live execution, and post-live optimization. I also served as an internal team leader, managing the careers of three employees.

A nine month experiential learning program with 7 internships in 5 different sectors of society and at least 15 additional hours each week of professional and personal development with 14 other Fellows.
