Behavioral health enthusiast with a passion for compassion who has been providing supports to the developmentally disabled population for the past 10 years as both a Direct Support Professional and as a manager/supervisor of various supported living homes.The bulk of my experience has been with the community protection program which provides intensive rehabilitation and supervision support, as a supplement to their standard supported living services, for adults with developmental disabilities who have a history of notably dangerous behaviors, including individuals who are on the Sex Offender Registry.However, I have supported many clients over the years in a very wide spectrum of needs. I have worked for clients who are physically assaultive, have more severe psychiatric disorders like schizophrenia, PTSD, Bipolar, etc. but also clients with high medical needs like feeding tubes, hoyer transfers, delegated nursing tasks, etc. and clients who require both types of support. Currently I am working as a supervisor overseeing 3 supported living homes that primarily support individuals with behavioral support needs, though not in the community protection program, moreso than medical support needs.Additionally, I am a collector of niche skills and experiences which include: body piercing, wedding officiating, ministry, doula services (including placenta encapsulation), balloon art, aura readings, tarot readings, facepainting, jewelry making, and I am an indie folk musician. I play banjo, ukulele, piano, mandolin, melodica and xylophone. I also sing and write songs, including lyrics. I am in two bands but also have my own solo project.
